The right choices

A young girl returns home from school holding two deliciously looking red apples, one in each hand. On entering the house her mother notices the apples and says how lovely they look.

The daughter agrees and explains that one of the boys in class has a couple of apple trees and had brought some in for the class to enjoy.

Mum looks at her daughter and asks, "May I have one please?"
In an instant the daughter takes a bit from each apple and starts chewing!

As the mother feels the blood draining from her face, she struggles to control the angry outburst that is building up inside (how can she be so greedy? why would she be so rude?). The daughter holds out her left hand presenting the apple saying, "Here you go mum, this one is the sweetest"

Do not let a moment of anger turn into a lifetime of regret. Thankfully the reasoning behind the daughters actions where quickly realised and the mother did not react in a negative manner.

Unfortunately in life we may not always be given the time to understand the real reason behind a person’s actions or decision and we can often get caught up in the principle of an action rather than the meaning.
