Our Story

Meredith Lawyers dates its origins back to 2007, as a small family law practice established in Western Australia. Now based in Sydney, with a continued presence in Perth, we are able to service clients across the country.

Our principal David Meredith has handled a diverse range of family law cases since his admission to practice in 2002 and is regularly sought for his professionalism and dedication to his client’s interests. Family law is a challenging area of practice and David’s more than 20 years’ experience is invaluable for clients as they navigate what is often an emotion-charged and unfamiliar world of lawyers, the court system, rules of evidence and legal principles. Our solicitors are here not only to provide you with expert advice and representation, but also to guide you through the family law system as you work towards the ideal outcome.

Our team includes qualified mediators who use their dispute resolution skills to avoid the stress and expense of family law litigation. Where litigation is unavoidable, our team includes skilled courtroom advocates. Our people are our greatest asset, and our team empathetically responds to the gravity of your family situation, helping to alleviate your concerns. Each of our lawyers fervently believes that the sooner and more favourably our clients are able to resolve their family law dispute, the sooner they can move on to the next chapter of their lives. We are a results-driven firm who persistently seek to obtain the best possible outcome for our clients, while also considering our clients’ budgets, wellbeing and time constraints. We also understand that every case is different. We take a customised approach, especially when it comes to family matters, and we tailor our advice to your situation in order to achieve the best possible outcome.

We are more than lawyers, we are trusted advisors, here to create practical and pragmatic solutions. Our role extends further by advising and educating you about your rights and how the legal process works in order to resolve your dispute. We’re compassionate and committed to achieving the outcome you deserve.

We have decades of experience in managing sensitive and emotionally charged issues involving children and families. We have established a reputation for handling small family matters, right up to complex cases that arise from time to time.

Transparency is one of our core values and our aim is to make your tough journey as smooth as possible. By developing an in-depth understanding of your personal goals or family matter, combined with a real willingness to listen, we’re able to give you the best possible advice and potential outcome.
